The MindStones 6-a-side tournament returned to the Gallagher Stadium on Sunday 26th July, with ten teams playing for the MindStones Britannia Trophy, courtesy of our sponsors Britannia MOT.
MindStones and Maidstone United Raiders fielded three teams each, and Head in the Game legacy projects from Sittingbourne, Dartford, and Ebbsfleet (with two teams) played in two groups of five followed by a knockout competition.
A decent sized crowd cheered on as the teams played some great football, culminating in the two Ebbsfleet Dads teams meeting in the final which Ebbsfleet Dads I won. MindStones I came third, beating Dartford Tunnels in the 3rd/4th place play-off.
The two bottom teams from each group played for a Plate trophy, with Raiders 3 victorious in that match.
Big thanks to all the teams and spectators for attending, Britannia MOT for their sponsorship, and Maidstone United FC for use of the facilities and provision of stewards and bar staff.
A special mention goes to our two referees on the day, Davyn Achampong and Kailan Ellison, who were both excellent and helped to make the tournament a success. The event raised funds for MindStones and Raiders which will assist us in continuing to run and equip our sessions.
