Women involved in Walking Football

Our Women's Walking Football programme is up and running

A huge thank you goes out to Involve Kent, thanks to their grant we are able to fund this programme and get women into walking football.

Friday 17 Jan 2025 saw the first session for our Women’s Walking Football programme which was held at St Augustine’s Academy, Oakwood Park, Maidstone.

It did not take long for those brave enough to attend this first session to get to know each other and work as a team, although playing football by walking quickly was a little more of a challenge.

By the end of the evening the ladies were getting to grips with walking football, while burning a few more calories so they could enjoy that sweet treat their efforts deserved.

More ladies have already booked their place for the next session and there are still plenty of spaces available, so come along and give it ago – details below.

We hope that this programme will be successful and be the foundation leading to the growth of a permanent women’s walking football programme within SITC.

International Women’s Day is on Sat 8 March and Kent FA are holding a Women’s Walking Football festival. Our hope is that we may be able to enter a team into this festival from this programme.

This programme is free to attend with sessions taking place every Friday

19:00 – 20:00 until 28 Mar 2025. There is plenty of free parking available.
