FitSTONES 07 programme took place between 17 Sep – 03 Dec 2024 and one participant really felt the difference, so much so that she has had a reassessment by her GP, explaining how FitSTONES Habits for Health programme has made the world of difference to her health.
The participants benefitted from this carefully crafted 12-week course that is based on scientific findings and first-hand experience. At the start of the programme they each took a wellbeing assessment. It is calculated by cross-referencing smoking, blood pressure, heart rate, BMI and sleep. It captures objective metrics at the time you complete the snapshot assessment – then at the end of the programme a second assessment is done to track improvement.

Online training resources are available during and after the programme to support participants in changing behaviours to improve physical and mental health and wellbeing.
We hope this testimonial from a participant on this programme will inspire you to find out more:
I completed the 12 week Habits for Health programme this week. I have really enjoyed every week of the programme. I have been very fortunate to have had Julie and Louise as the group’s coaches and to have been part of a small group of participants who all put in a lot of effort to try the weekly experiments, do the fitness sessions and support each other.
I have learned so much about all aspects of wellbeing, including hydration, nutrition, sleep and happiness. I enjoyed trying a different type of fitness class each week, including pilates, ballroom dancing, table tennis and Hiit training. I liked the surprise element of not knowing until the day what we were going to be doing. I also liked having a different wellbeing topic each week. I think the 1 % progress experiments are a great idea, because you get to try something for a week, which may be something to carry on (like drinking warm water at the start of every day) or not.
I also liked measuring the benefits of the programme by doing the 10S wellbeing age assessment and the fitness test at both the beginning and end of the programme. My actual age is 59, my 10S wellbeing age before the programme was 53.4, at the end it was 37.9! In the fitness test I either did more repetitions or used less energy to do all the tests. I feel fitter, more confident, stronger, happier and more likely to try new things. My balance has also improved.
Going forward I plan to apply a lot of the knowledge that I have gained through the programme. I am aiming to cover half of my plate with vegetables, quarter with protein and quarter with carbohydrate. I plan to set aside time to plan and prep meals each week, to put reminders on my calendar to do exercise and to factor in relaxation time too.
I am going to miss our Tuesday evening sessions together, as we have built up a support network. We have an active Whatsapp group which I hope we still use to encourage each other as we move forward.
I also plan to use the online videos to revisit some of the topics that we covered and to try some of the other 1% progress experiments.
Thank you for the opportunity to take part in this amazing programme. I would recommend it to anyone to do, as I think everyone would learn something and hopefully see the benefits after following the programme.
