As part of our ongoing commitment to growth and community impact, Stones in the Community (SITC) is proud to announce the appointment of Julie Palmer as our new Operations Director.
Julie brings a wealth of experience from the education and community sectors, having spent over a decade as a PE teacher and curriculum leader within the Leigh Academy Trust. Her background includes strategic planning, event management, safeguarding, and mentoring, all of which will be invaluable as we expand our reach and services.
In her new role, Julie will provide strategic oversight of our current programmes and help identify new opportunities to support individuals and families across our community. Her passion for physical activity as a tool for personal and social development aligns perfectly with our mission.
Announcing the appointment, Mike Littleboy SITC Chair commented:
“Julie brings a dynamic energy and a clear commitment to positive change. Her arrival gives us the opportunity to reflect, refocus, and re-energise our work. I look forward to seeing how she supports and challenges our team to deliver with purpose and passion.”
Commenting on her appointment, Julie Palmer said:
“I am passionate about the positive impact that physical activity can have on individuals and communities to promote a long-term healthy lifestyle. Physical activity promotes many values including resilience, self-discipline, collaboration and a healthy mindset, which is an area I believe the younger generation struggle with. With this new position, I want to inspire, motivate and support others in achieving lasting lifestyle improvements and really promote SITC through this work.”
Julie’s career spans roles in education, coaching, and executive support, including her time as a Personal Assistant to the UK Sales Director at Acco Europe Ltd. Her ability to build strong relationships, manage complex projects, and lead with empathy makes her a perfect fit for this pivotal role.
We’re excited to welcome Julie to the team and look forward to the positive impact she will bring to SITC and the wider community.
